BuildOUT California has invited 8 LGBT Chambers of Commerce from throughout California to participate in the California Rainbow Roundtable. Designed to form a new level of collaboration with business reps from each chamber who are from the A&E, Construction, Real Estate Development and Related Industries, this unique group of stakeholders will actively share best practices, legislative and regulatory updates, and upcoming procurement opportunities. “The Roundtable” will launch in January 2021 and will be staffed by BuildOUT California.
“This is a great opportunity for LGBT businesses in the construction fields to collaborate with the shared goal of increasing the utilization of LGBT firms in a sector where we are currently under-represented’ stated Andrew Yoshimura of Pride Resource Partners (San Diego) who will Chair the California Rainbow Roundtable. “It will also mark the first time in the US that a state-driven initiative such as this will take place. With California being the 5th largest economy in the world there are many untapped business opportunities in construction that we can pursue” Yoshimura added.
