BuildOUT California was honored to be invited by the Utah Department of Transportation to be a featured speaker at the Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (WASHTO) Annual Conference held in Salt Lake City, which took place September 12 – 15, 2021. WASHTO is a major force within the national transportation industry and contributes to national policies by advocating legislation that supports efficient and effective transportation systems, economic competitiveness and the environmental integrity of its member states, provides a forum for exchanging ideas, exploring and adapting techniques, promoting quality and best practices for implementation, and working with the United States Department of Transportation and other governmental agencies.
WASHTO includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
The topics addressed by BuildOUT California’s President, Paul Pendergast, included workforce and leadership development from the perspective of the LGBTQ Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Real Estate Development perspectives.
