On Wednesday, July 21 2021, BuildOUT California’s President Paul Pendergast provided remarks at the California Public Utilities Commission Public Workshop on matters associated with General Order 156. Pendergast’s comments highlighted the methodology used by BuildOUT California in a comparative analysis with a July 2020 Spend Analysis provided by the California Joint Utilities.
BuildOUT California’s direct, one-to-one comparison to the Join Utilities report clearly shows there are ample LGBT certified firms that can both meet and exceed a common sense 1.5% utilization Goal. We also spoke out against the recommendation by staff to add four more years of "good faith efforts" that have produced less than-acceptable results over the last five years.
