As we shared last week, BuildOUT California is thrilled by the unanimous support of the California Public Utilities Commission for the 1.5% aspirational goal for LGBT business utilization.
We are equally proud to share the official statement issued by PG&E regarding the Commission’s action (see below).
It is important to note that during the official LGBT Goal-setting Process PG&E was the first utility in California to support the 1.5% goal.
"PG&E has been a champion of including LGBTQ businesses for many years. In addition to increasing our spend with LGBTQ enterprises more than 600 percent over the last five years, we've actively contributed to their growth and success through business counseling, education and other support services. We are encouraged with the CPUC's decision to set an aspirational goal for utilities to contract with LGBTQ businesses and will continue to support these enterprises in our shared goal to deliver for our hometowns."
