The nine colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) serve about 250,000 students annually. Overall, the District covers 882 square miles and serves 36 cities. The LACCD is a leader in environmentally responsible construction. Thanks to its $9.5 billion Sustainable Building Program, LACCD is modernizing its colleges and building more than 40 new structures District-wide that will meet LEED™ standards. The LACCD has a $5.3 billion measure on the November 8, 2022 ballot that would repair/ upgrade local community colleges, classrooms, water pipes, sewer/gas lines, technology, while also removing asbestos and lead paint.
