When Founders of BuildOUT California first met Helen, Brooke, and Maureen McHugh (Executive Vice-President), the connection was immediate. As Helen mentioned during their very first meeting, every pound and every cup of coffee is part of a story which is founded on a blend of quality, sustainability and social responsibility.
It was no surprise that out of millions of small businesses across America - Equator Coffee became the first LGBT-certified firm to be named the Nation’s Small Business of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration under the leadership of President Barack Obama.
