Celebrating a Significant Milestone with Stanford University's Leaders of the Built Environment (LBE)

BuildOUT California has always been very transparent in our communications that we have a long road ahead of us in creating a space within the AEC Industry that is both welcoming and competitive for LGBT businesses, professionals, and workforces. Our 20-year strategic plan takes the ‘long-view’ as we move forward with our Community, our Allies, and Key Stakeholders.

That is why last week’s BuildOUT California/Stanford University-School of Engineering & Doerr School of Sustainability event featuring the Leaders of the Built Environment (LBE) was such a significant milestone. The members of Stanford’s LBE will absolutely be the future leaders within our AEC industry.

Special thanks to Stanford graduate student Jacob Totaro, Daniel Souza (Jacobs), and Vigor Lam (Jacobs) for their leadership in bringing together an amazing group of LGBT/Allied undergraduate/graduate students to this panel discussion and networking event that focused on professional development, industry best practices, and championing life experiences.

Many thanks to our amazing panelists: Dixon Lu (MAD Architects), Raquel Contreras (Swinerton), Andrew Yoshimura (Logic), Jennifer Walker (Watearth), Nick Colina (ANCO Iron & Construction), Vigor Lam (Jacobs Brandon Braegelmann (Montez Group and our Panel Co-Moderators Jacob Totaro (Stanford) and Daniel Souza (Jacobs).

BuildOUT California looks forward to utilizing the model we first began building with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and have now perfected with Stanford as we engage with colleges, universities and trade schools throughout the West Coast, North America, and Globally!
