BuildOUT California is joining our LGBTQ/Allied friends and colleagues in the Built Environment throughout England and the United Kingdom on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in London to celebrate the historic Memorandum of Understanding signed in April 2022 by the following Institutions:
Chartered Institute of the Building
Institution of Civil Engineers
Landscape Institute
Royal Institution of British Architects
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Royal Town Planning Institute
Together these entities have agreed to cooperate with the purpose of creating a built environment sector that is as diverse as the communities it represents; that acts inclusively, treats everyone fairly and provides a culture that delivers the best outcomes for the diverse societies in which and for whom their collective membership’s work. This agreement includes LGBTQ individuals and businesses.
The signatories recognize the potential of their combined memberships of over 350,000 businesses and professionals to affect a meaningful and tangible improvement in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) standards across the built environment.
The Wednesday, June 7 reception will be held in London at the offices of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) which is directly across from the British Parliament Building. It will gather industry leaders from the Built Environment which will include the participation and collaboration of the following LGBTQ Built Community Industry Associations: Freehold, Building Equality, and BuildOUT California.
