We are honored to share with our entire BuildOUT California network that two of our 2022 Founders Day honorees, Saleem Fazal and David Mann, who were awarded our ‘President’s Award’, have been selected by King Charles III as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) as announced in the King’s New Year Honours List 2023 for their outstanding contributions toward the inclusion within the Property Industry.
Saleem and David are Founders of Freehold which is a professional industry association, headquartered in London, for LGBTQ+ working within the real estate sector.
The annual New Year’s Honours list marks the achievements and contributions of people from across the UK. This incredibly distinguished list recognizes people across the UK to celebrate their contributions to society, community, or their area of work. Recipients range from politicians, musicians, and actors to senior diplomats at the forefront of the UK’s response to the war in Ukraine.

Mr. Fazal and Mr. Mann were introduced to BuildOUT California in 2020 by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) who are key partners in BuildOUT’s Global Division initiatives helping to amplify our voice throughout the world in 19 different languages.
